Bringing Life to an Old Buffet

Updated: May 30, 2024

Now turning my attention to finishing up the mini buffet transformation for my client, Julianne.

Julianne chose neutral colors with a matching transfer to match her traditional décor in her beautifully decorated home.

This little buffet will be placed in her foyer and be the center of attention when you enter her home.

I will be using Dixie Belle's "Pinecone" and Annie Sloan's "Versailles" for my paints and one of my favorite transfers, "Rose & Rouge". The top will be sanded and stained a rich walnut color. I will be adding depth with clear and brown waxes.

I promised No bright gold for “Eleanor’s” makeover...… but there was a warm brassy glimmer in the transfer so I just had to add some warm aged brass accents to her sexy legs to tie it all together. I used Art Alchemy’s Aged Brass Metallique.

"Eleanor" is complete. No staging for this beauty as her gorgeous new stained top needs to cure a few days before anything is placed on it.

Lots of layering of paint and waxes was done to create a unique textured finish on this mini buffet. I love how the Rose & Rouge floral transfer completely covers both drawers making this a statement piece for Julianne's foyer. I used a coordinating liner for the interior of the drawers.

Thanks for trusting me with this makeover, Julianne.
