Rather than taking the time to tape around this 100 year old beveled mirror I find it is easier for me to insert playing cards between the frame and mirror and then paint the frame. I allow my 2 coats to dry thoroughly and then do a very light score with a pen knife on top of the cards around the frame before removing the cards, providing me with a neat edge.
