Removing old/damaged veneer

Writer: Teri HahnTeri Hahn

Preparing my surface so I can adhere it to my large bottom drawer.

in order to easily remove the old damaged veneer, I dampened (damp not soaking wet) some old towels and allowed them to sit overnight on the drawer front. Today I took an old iron and turned it to the hottest setting and placed it on my damp towels in sections to steam off the glue under the veneer. This made it very easy to pry off with my scraper tool. A putty knife will also work for this process.
