Broken trim molding? Not a problem

While tackling this gorgeous Dixie Hi-Boy dresser I discovered a couple of thin trim moldings were broken on the bottom portion of the dresser. You can see in the picture the thin trim on the top was in great condition but I had no way to replicate them so I decided to add a different trim to the bottom half.

Once I had removed all the trim it created a small crevice I filled with wood filler, let it dry and sanded it smooth. I decided to use a product called Wood U Bend to cover this crevice and add some interesting detail to the bottom drawers.

Wood U Bend is an amazing product composed of 90% recycled wood fibers and olive oil. My trim came in a tight roll and I simply heated it on low with my heat gun to slowly unroll it so I could cut to length and apply to my dresser front. Working on one side at a time I used Titebond Quick & Thick glue and applied pressure until it was firmly adhered. This glue dries very quickly and I find it perfect for applying my wood trims and appliques.

This product is very pliable and can be easily trimmed with scissors or a pen knife. This final picture shows it applied on all four sides and ready to be painted.
