Hiding a design on a dresser

Writer: Teri HahnTeri Hahn

This vintage dresser I am working on had a design etched into the wood of the 3 front drawers. I find this to be common on furniture crafted in the early 1930's but I did not want to incorporate it into my new design.

I used a Dixie Belle Paint Company product called White Mud to completely fill in the etched design and once dry I will lightly sand and then prime and paint my drawers.

This is a great product to have on hand for any patching of scratches and blemishes on your furniture. It comes in 3 shades: white, brown and black and once opened I recommend keeping it refrigerated to help keep it fresh longer.
