My Grand - daughter's Dresser Makeover

Updated: May 30

Ok my friends, here is something that is almost never seen in my shop... a white dresser!

This is actually my granddaughter, Samantha's dresser. She wanted to give it a modern look to take to her first college apartment this fall. I am so proud of the wonderful job she did on this dresser makeover.

How We Did It

She started off by removing all of the hardware on the dresser and cleaning it well. . Samantha used an artist brush to apply Prima's "Eternal" gilding wax to the handles. After this dried she sprayed it with a matte protective finish.

We then did a light sand of the dresser to give some "tooth" to allow a fresh coat of white paint to adhere well to the dresser. She chose Dixie Belle's "Fluff" for her fresh coat of paint. The new paint was allowed to dry overnight and then we applied a gorgeous tropical leaves transfer from Prima across the faces of the drawers!

So proud of the beautiful job she did designing her first piece of furniture art!

Now this is a white piece I can say I love.
