This late 1800's, (as evidenced by her Knapp joinery) Victorian Era, antique, lingerie chest has been restored to her natural beauty. Many hours of sanding and hand waxing on this gem of a chest really paid off in a big way.
While researching the history of this diminutive chest, I discovered that in the Victorian Era, these smaller scale lingerie chests were designed for women who needed space for smaller garments and accessories. It is also worth noting that these slender tallboys offer the perfect solution for utilizing storage in a small space.
"Meg" consists of of 5 locking drawers with key which are each fashioned with the original pressed brass decorative hardware. Her original brass castors are still functional and could also be removed, if desired. Her natural oak drawer boxes were revitalized with General Finishes Orange Oil.
Truly a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture history perfect in any room of your home.
